Civility in American and the World as a Whole

I feel as though I have to speak up on the subject of "simple civility."

It seems to me that since my childhood, the greater society has become less and less civil to each other in the public arena. Not so, on a person to person vernacular though it seems. Why is this?

Public statements of discord between political parties and civic groups as reported on by the news media seems to be inciting the public rather than simply showing the news as it actually happens without a "storyline" basis.

By storyline, I mean that news services around the globe seem to think that "sensationalism" is the only way to gain the "ratings" for their network. This sensationalism becomes, in my opinion, a significant factor on how the public receives the stories the news people report, such as the American news media and the world-wide news media followed the terrible news story in Arizona involving various aged people, one of which was a Congresswoman.

Our news media decided that the "storyline" would be that of a lady from Alaska who happens to say what she wants when she wants. The "storyline" was this - Sarah Palin used what looked like to be “gun sights” on the various politicians’ home districts who voted for an American healthcare bill alluding that they should be “targeted” for what they did. This young man, obviously not thinking correctly and with apparent suicide by police thoughts of a grand exit from this life saw "this" news storyline of the "gun sights" and decided he would kill one or more persons and then the police would kill him - only conjecture here.

This type of journalism is what great "ratings" are all about. I ask you - who are asking the real questions in Arizona. How is society complicit in this whole affair happening? This event happens all over the world everyday when one person kills another. What obligation to the viewing public does journalists and their employers have to filter - not what is said but rather how it is said with the view of civility and not sensationalism?

I ask you, the people of the world - why do I let this type of news happen? How can I change the way the news is reported so that I feel that the story has been investigated from all sides at once and not "story by story?" By this I mean that journalists report only one part of a story at a time allowing the story to be divided into "sound bites" for the ratings the bites will produce and then another reporter reports about another view of the story so it too can become "sound bites" for higher ratings.

I believe that civility in the world on a person to person basis is okay. Unfortunately, I also believe that television journalism using pictures to drive their point of the story is unacceptable reporting. How about taking on a story with a number of reporters and camera persons to a story that has occurred - do their individual reporting procedures - THEN come back together as one team with only one reporter reporting the story? I believe that both the journalist reporting the story and his employers would then have an obligation to report the whole story for their network once. This reporting style, though it maybe bland sometimes, will make the decision makers take a look at the story with an eye for civility and not ratings as I believe is done now by the news media as whole - sell those papers - airtime ratings - Pulitzer Prizes, etc...

The Gathering of Elders May 2012

GREEN DOT FOR EARTH Organization is sponsoring a global event for World Peace in May 2012.

The Gathering of Elders is an event to be held on all seven continents simultaneously via satellite, teleconference, television, internet, phone-in, and in person. Multiple cities around the world are being identified for the gatherings. This means that no matter where you are in the world, there will be a site for you to attend in person. Can't make it? Be part of the event through one of the other avenues for participation.

Elders, Tribal Leaders, Clan Leaders, Community Leaders, Medicine Men, Medicine Women and Shamans along with invited sponsors and participants from all genres of peace and environmental activism will be as "One Voice, One People, One Nation, and One World." Citizens of the world will be allowed access to discussions at the various sites through multiple media avenues including live streaming via the internet. Social Media live streaming will include, but not limited to, Facebook©, Twitter©, MySpace©, and LinkedIn©.

The Gathering of Elders is three days of meetings, discussions, and most importantly - "organizing as one." These leaders will not only be part of the program of that area of the world. They will be linked to all other sites simultaneously to be able to speak up, listen to others, and become a voice for their people.

The focus will be to organize all the peoples of the world together using the teachings of the Satyagraha Movement of Mahatma Gandhi and his followers of the early 20^th Century for the independence of India from English Rule. Through peaceful resistance, any company, corporation, government can be brought to its knees economically by cutting or limiting their import/exports without a shot fired or damage to Mother Earth.

You may be thinking how can they expect a whole world when the difficulties of organizing two cities is so challenging? All leaders of individual peoples will bring with them permission to obligate their entire people for “true World Peace.” Gaining permission ahead of time takes the main problem of the past – politics. No one will “have” to get this approved back at home first because they brought their people’s voices with them to stand in unity with the rest of the world.

For those of you who do not know of how Mr. Gandhi and followers removed England from India – here is a short version:

A small group of patriots gathered with Mr. Gandhi present and decided that they were fed up with the English and their rule over them. Mr. Gandhi insisted on a resistance that was peaceful resulting in huge death tolls from fighting the traditional way, which was with arms. The group organized their efforts but with a huge problem – they did not have word in any of the dialects of India that meant peaceful resistance. The group found two words that could work if they used as one. Satya and agraha which roughly translated, meant truth and strength and thus, “satyagraha” was born along with a revolution of force without fighting.

The proud peoples of many sects, dialects, and religions became “One Voice.” This did not happen without some turbulence along the way, but the movement was, never the less, successful.

Various subscriptions too many beliefs around the globe on the subject of the “great coming together of the rainbow people (all peoples),” has been handed down from Elder/Medicine Man or Medicine Woman for a millennia. The basis of these prophecies or stories as some would say is that the Creator, God, Yowa, et al. was said to have instructed these special people to keep the secrets of their origin, as told to them from the Creator, to themselves until such time as the peoples of Mother Earth were again ready to understand these teachings. The Creator fore told of certain events that would happen when God was ready for them to release the information and gather the “rainbow people” back as one people. What these signs were depends on which clan, tribe, or nation you belong to. These prophecies are, in substance, the same and trigger a chain of events that have been foreseen for centuries by noted scholars. To the scholars of old, these events would trigger the “end of the world.” Green Dot For Earth agrees with them but ONLY IN THAT the “end of the world,” as they knew it would end.

In the coming age of Aquarius for some believers, the end of the Mayan Calendar for others, and the birth of the “white buffalo calf” for the people of present day North and South America. While these prophecies come to pass, the peoples of the world will be feeling somewhat ill at ease – uncertain of what is going on around them – what they are feeling inside – the animal’s migration to parts of the world not known to them to live. These are all foretold to the Elders and Medicine people of around one hundred thousand years ago. Far before modern science believes humans were on earth.

What does this all mean? Are we going to blow up and not exist? No my dear friends, it does not. Mother Earth is going into its next phase of evolution and we are here to watch it all happen.

Through all of recorded history, man has used one means of creating peace with each other – a treaty of some sort. All of which have been broken shortly afterwards. History cannot repeat itself anymore. The “New Generation of Humanity” is here and changing the way we conduct ourselves here on earth both for ourselves AND for future generations of earth’s inhabitants. The eco-system is out of balance and in need of repair. Our new leaders will be charged to correct this mass destruction and reset the world back to harmony with itself.

The above mentioned course of action is the one Green Dot believes is THE course of action by organizing peacefully and managing how all humans act on this planet without a shot fired.

Join Green Dot in organizing community groups from your homes in groups of five friends and family to start. Watch the GDFE Group Video coming out by January 2011 to show you some ideas for organizing. GDFE Groups are not any lower or higher than any part of this organization including the headquarters staff and board of director. Once you have organized a group of five persons – all five of you then go out and invite five more friends and family into each of your homes to do the same thing and join the original group. Afterwards, all of you go out and get five more persons in your homes and so on and so on…

A Great Urgency

To All World Religious and Spiritual Leaders

My Relatives,

Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders. I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the Spirit of your Nations in prayer.

We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life of all things. As I am sending this message to you, many Animal Nations are being threatened, those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, and the plant Nations, eventually all will be affect from the oil disaster in the Gulf.

The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit. The catastrophe that has happened with the oil spill which looks like the bleeding of Grandmother Earth, is made by human mistakes, mistakes that we cannot afford to continue to make.

I asked, as Spiritual Leaders, that we join together, united in prayer with the whole of our Global Communities. My concern is these serious issues will continue to worsen, as a domino effect that our Ancestors have warned us of in their Prophecies.

I know in my heart there are millions of people that feel our united prayers for the sake of our Grandmother Earth are long overdue. I believe we as Spiritual people must gather ourselves and focus our thoughts and prayers to allow the healing of the many wounds that have been inflicted on the Earth.

As we honor the Cycle of Life, let us call for Prayer circles globally to assist in healing Grandmother Earth (our Unc¹I Maka).

We ask for prayers that the oil spill, this bleeding, will stop. That the winds stay calm to assist in the work. Pray for the people to be guided in repairing this mistake, and that we may also seek to live in harmony, as we make the choice to change the destructive path we are on.As we pray, we will fully understand that we are all connected. And that what we create can have lasting effects on all life.So let us unite spiritually, All Nations, All Faiths, One Prayer. Along with this immediate effort, I also ask to please remember June 21st, World Peace and Prayer Day/Honoring Sacred Sites day. Whether it is a natural site, a temple, a church, a synagogue or just your own sacred space, let us make a prayer for all life, for good decision making by our Nations, for our children¹s future and well-being, and the generations to come.
